The Plainspoken Version

I'm a local business, not a data-mining corporation. I'm committed to being as open and honest as my web design process.

I will never sell your personal information.
I only collect the information I absolutely need to either talk to you or see how my site is performing.
You are in control of your information.

This policy explains what I collect, why I collect it, and what I do (and don't) do with it.

There are two ways I collect information:

A. Information You Voluntarily Give Me:

This is personal information you choose to provide.

Contact Form: When you fill out my contact form, I collect your Name and Email Address so I can reply to your question.
Scheduling a Call: When you book a 15-minute call using my Google Calendar tool, I collect your Name, Email Address, and Phone Number so I can call you for our appointment.

B. Information Collected Automatically:

Like most websites, this one collects some basic, anonymous information to see how the site is performing.

Cookies & Analytics: This website is built on Squarespace. Squarespace uses "cookies"—small files saved on your computer—to collect anonymous data about your visit. This includes things like:
- What page you landed on.
- How long you stayed.
- What browser you're using.
- Your general location (like your city, not your street address).

This helps me understand what parts of my site are working and how people are finding me. I cannot and do not use this to personally identify you.

My use of your information is simple and straightforward:

To Respond to You: I use the name, email, and phone number you provide to answer your questions and to conduct our scheduled 15-minute call.
To Improve My Site: I use the anonymous analytics data to make my website better and more helpful.
To Provide My Services: If we decide to work together, I will use your contact information to communicate with you about our project.

I will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third-party marketers.

The information you provide is shared only with the secure, professional tools I use to run my business:

Squarespace: My website host. They handle the site analytics and may store the data from my contact form.
Google Workspace / Google Calendar: When you book a call, your information is stored in my private Google Calendar so I can manage the appointment. When you email me, your email is stored in my secure Google email account.

I will only disclose your information if I am required to do so by law.

You are in control.

Cookies: You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies at any time. (This may affect how some websites, including this one, function).
Your Data: You have the right to ask me what information I have about you, to correct it, or to ask me to delete it. Just send me an email at jake@plainspokenstudio.com
